Reception Staff

Our receptionists are usually the first point of contact and are here to help you. They have a lot of information to hand and in most cases will be able to help with your enquiry, ensuring you see the most appropriate clinician. Nonetheless, it is your right to request to talk only to the doctor. Anything that is discussed with the receptionists or any other member of the team is treated in strict confidence. You have a right to be treated courteously, and our receptionists also have a right to be treated courteously by you. We can offer a degree of privacy at reception or a separate room if available, if your enquiry is sensitive. Please respect the privacy of other patients by standing well back from the reception desk until your turn.

Reception staff are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the doctors.  The job of the receptionist is to ease the flow of consultations of patients with doctors. Many of the administrative systems are operated by the Receptionists, so please help them to help you.

Receptionists are the engine house of the Surgery, doing a wide range of administrative jobs, answering telephone calls and greeting patients at the counter.  At times there may be slight delays so please be patient until they can attend to you.
